Step into a world full of creatures and creative minds alike. Walk in the shoes of someone new. From the innocence of humanity, to someone who will stop at nothing to hunt down those who are different. Maybe you are just born with supernatural abilities? Maybe you stalk the dark fighting to survive day by day. Perhaps the moon calls to you to run through the trees. Here the sky's the limit - anything is possible if you set your mind to it.
We can't wait to have you enter our ever growing creation!
Way back in 2013 Desolate originally created the Human rpg site known as City Life on Wetpaint. It won a few awards for best human roleplay and continued to thrive. With the change from Wetpaint to WikiFoundry it got a new name which it is best known for - Illustrated Reality. Here is began to grow twice as fast into a blossoming up and coming site. As peoples lives got busy it started to peter out slightly, but was still going strong. However when WikiFoundry went under it was impossible to continue to run the site. After a few years off it is back under the same now, but new domain and we are so excited to see all the new faces and fresh ideas come to light again! Now enough about the personal history, and onto the story history!
There have been many stories told to children growing up about the monsters that live under their beds. But no one ever speaks of the horrors with a kind smile and warm heart. No, we can't humanize those who are different. Mind you there are many secrets in the streets of New York. The person who lives next door and buys you flowers on your anniversary does so because many decades ago they lost their love in the war - but you wouldn't know that. After all this is a young woman.
How are you to know that the librarian who's helped you with your homework for the past few years wasn't who you thought. How were you supposed to know that warm smile and kind heart wasn't the truth. Instead he goes out every night and hunts down the wolves that run through the trees, paying no mind but to protect their families. He doesn't care, he finds it disgusting such a beast exists, tricking everyone into thinking he was just another human.
But these are the secrets that lie in plain sight. Who are we to judge without really knowing? IT's true what they say, you can never truly judge a book by it's cover.
